COMMENTS:
Beautiful old hotel run by Dragua Kalemi, a very friendly Albanian gentleman with good English language skills. As the hotel is situated outside of the new city, high on a steep ridge (about a 30 minute walk uphill from the bus stop), we highly recommend that anyone staying here take a taxi. We didn't, but we only had day packs with us. Still we arrived quite wet and exhausted from our climb. The taxi ride down hill croat 500 leks (around $4.50). Is is a wonderful hotel with amazing views. Definitely would come back if our travels once again took us to Albania. |

Very friendly en helpfull manager. We feel directly at "home'. Hotel is originally a Ottoman House, beautiful rooms and views of the city. Really value for money. Take a cab, because it's really UPhill.

The hotel is within walking distance of the fortress if you don't mind a few hills and steps. The room was nice but very small.The owners were very nice and you can park by the front door. |

Wonderful hosts and a great breakfast selection. I really had the impression of being in an Albanian family home,and I guess I was! Locations was great from point of view of scenery but not very central to community shops and services. Well done! I would certainly recommend the Kalemi. |

respect of the hotel is real and interesting typical albanian house in a great location, but the problems are:
a) the breakfast: it is very unusual with few kind of foods and no choice. Furthermore if you want water you have to pay
b) smell: there is a terrible sewage smell in every hours of the day and the night
c) air conditioner: there isn't. There is only a small ventilator very noisy but it is not enough |
