COMMENTS:
The newly renovated hotel with a restaurant on the lake makes a pleasant impression. There is also a new building complex belonging to the hotel across the road, which is probably used if the capacity the main house is exhausted. There is a parking lot next to the latter building.
The hotel is located about 10 km east of Pogradec near the Macedonian border. The location is picturesque and the road not very busy. A private vehicle is to be recommended if you want to explore the region.
The staff in the restaurant being responsible for the check-in was always friendly and the service in the restaurant proved to be perfect, too. Both breakfast and dinner were of very good quality.
There is a small public beach right next to the hotel. At the time of our arrival in the late afternoon a lot of waste was floating the water. Only the next morning this waste was removed. As in most places in Albania there is an urgent need for more environmental protection.
We were given a large, quiet room with a balcony and a view of Lake Ohrid. However the air conditioning did not work and the door to the room could only be locked with much effort. Since the room was shaded by trees, the temperature stayed within acceptable limits.
If you choose this hotel as a base for exploring the surrounding area, you are well served. We would advise against using the hotel as a spa hotel, however.

La colazione non era adeguata per quantita' e qualita'. Le carenze organizzative sono state compensate dalla cortesia e dalla disponibilita' dello staff. Abbiamo atteso parecchio prima di prendere possesso della camera e la mattina non era chiaro dove si facesse la colazione. |

This property has possibilities as it is located on beautiful Lake Ohrid. Unfortunately the reception is never supervised, no information is provided to the guest on arrival, and the dining room (permanent no-smoking sign posted, but always full of smokers) seems incapable of serving or unwilling to serve the breakfast that was promised in the room rate.
On the positive side, the housekeeping staff were efficient, cheerful and diligent.
The room itself was fine overall: lovely balcony overlooking the lake and very warm thanks to hot-water heating.
On the downside, most of the lightbulbs in the room were burned out, including two out of three in the overhead ceiling light and all bedside lamps. This gave the room an overall dark and gloomy ambience, something that would not have mattered in the summer but becomes importang during the darker winter months.
