It is 187km from Tirana and 20 km from the Macedonian border. It is famous for its thermal mineral water springs (Llixhat), which have important medicinal value. Llixhat, are sulfur baths located a few kilometers to the east of the town, which attract locals looking for therapeutic treatment.
